I'm a web designer and front-end dabbler with a passion for beautiful UX. I love crafting responsive websites with intuitive interfaces, and visual identities which delight and captivate users.
Research, wire-framing and user-testing are important steps in my workflow. I value white space, hierarchy and colour balance in a successful web design.
I strive for semantic HTML, and DRY CSS. I really enjoy integrating SASS with my workflow, prototyping with Jekyll and using resources such as the Foundation or Bootstrap frameworks.
I'm driven by the need to create. My favourite resources include InVision, Illustrator and Sketch. I have a soft spot for anything vector and love dabbling with SVG.
Through this industry focused course I learnt the best practices and techniques to build feature-rich, database-driven websites that are easy to use and look beautiful. I really enjoy content driven websites with a focus on UX.
My favourite course components included studio photography, advertising, and communication design. I also loved the nitty-gritty professional practice classes of contract writing, copyright law and licensing. A balanced design education.
As a junior designer I work closely with a small team of passionate creatives responsible for wireframe design, component design, and working prototypes. I've implemented workflow tools such as InVision and Trello and contributed to projects such as Spark My Potential for Spark Foundation, Leda, Valley Surveying Company, and RaboDirect.
As an interaction design intern I was responsible for creating design concepts to fit client specification. Producing original graphics, such as icons, illustrations and photographs. Retouching and editing photography. Wireframe design and front end development work including HTML and CSS.
I completed a three month secondment for FindSomeone. I worked together with a small team of developers to produce graphic design elements for marketing and sales. I contributed to advertising for Stuff, email newsletters and small web components such as icons and stock photo selection.
In this position I obtained valuable insight to how users connect with websites on a daily basis. This taught me the importance of usability and brand relationship. I contributed to improvement through suggestions to improve work systems, processes and procedure.
Graphic Design and Customer Service within a print agency. I was appointed the role of updating procedures to industry standard, and to assist in the transition from print to digital. I practised client consultation, pre-press, graphic design and a spot of retail and mail handling.
